Anger Intervention Management (AIM)
AIM is an educational program for individuals with anger
issues. The first week is devoted to screening, orientation, and goal setting
for the participant. The remaining six class are spent in the educational
program.
This program has 6 objectives:
To Teach... the
participants to understand that anger is a normal emotion but must be managed
appropriately.
To Increase...
the participants
understanding of the personal responsibility of realizing how anger affects relations with others.
To Increase... the
participants understanding of the negative effects of personal anger.
To Empower... the
participants to acknowledge that destructive anger patterns can be replaced with
constructive coping skills.
To Encourage... the
participants to practice reinforced healthy thinking by changing negative judgments
to positive alternatives.
To Provide... the
participant with practical information on how to make positive changes in their life through learning how
to control anger
