Community Coordinator

HOURS: Full Time, 40-hour work week: Monday – Friday. Some evening and weekend work may be required - flexible.

SUMMARY: The Community Coordinator provides outreach and awareness on domestic violence and related issues within the service area of Care lodge; provides advocacy to victims; develops and implements special activities and events.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline. 

Must have experience in public speaking and be able to communicate clearly to a wide range of audiences.

Must be able to work effectively with diverse groups of clients, staff and individuals in the community.

Ability to work with minimal supervision, as well as in a team environment.

Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously; work both independently and in a team environment.

Ability to express complex information and ideas both verbally and in writing.

Ability to work within agency mission, philosophy and policies/procedures.

Must have a reliable vehicle and meet agency driving policy requirements, including a valid driver license and proof of required automobile insurance. Travel may be required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

OUTREACH:

  • Organizes and implements awareness events, education, trainings on domestic violence issues and agency services to victims, community members and groups, students and area professionals.
  • Organize and implement training on domestic violence issues to victims, law enforcement, judicial, and local area professionals. Revised 01/2023
  • Develops and assists with special activities and event planning.
  • Develops and updates Care Lodge website as well as other social media platforms.
  • Edit and publish daily social media posts, weekly blog posts and quarterly newsletters for the agency.
  • Coordinate volunteer services
  • Maintain proficient working relationships with all volunteer and social service agencies; and service area professionals and continue to expand agency partnerships.

AGENCY COMPLIANCE:

  • Maintains accurate and thorough documentation in a timely manner reflecting all position functions and activities in client database.
  • Answers agency hotline calls and makes appropriate referrals.
  • Composes thank you notes to all donors
  • Adhere to the agency’s confidentiality policies, maintaining a high-level standard of confidentiality
  • Report any known or suspected child abuse to immediate supervisor
  • Report any suspicious activity or persons
  • Attend and participate in agency staff meetings and trainings 
  • Report to work on time as scheduled
  • Maintain a valid driver license and proof of required automobile insurance
  • Perform all other duties and/or participate in special projects as assigned by 
    Director of Program Development or Executive Director.

OTHER:

  • In case of emergencies and extreme circumstances, will be required to assist with 24-hour shelter coverage.
